My job isn’t to tell you what you should or shouldn’t want for your wedding day.
But from this side of the lens — as planners, designers, and florists — we see patterns that couples don’t always notice. And sometimes, those patterns continue for months or even years.
Right now, it’s the Pinterest effect. We love her but let’s be honest, she doesn’t always “get it.”
She’s just doing what she’s built to do: show you what’s popular. What’s been done.
What’s been saved thousands of times before.
And suddenly, almost every client is sending the same inspiration image. The same bouquet, the same palette, the same structure.
If you’re seeing something beautiful and feeling drawn to it, that’s valid.
If you also have a quiet craving for something more unique and original, something that feels more like you, this is your invitation to explore that for your wedding day.

The Pinterest Effect: Helpful, But Limited
Pinterest is a brilliant visual resource. It helps you get a sense of what you like and don’t like.
It can also become a loop, showing you the same centerpiece twelve different ways, until you forget there are more possibilities beyond what’s trending.
Florists, and especially luxury wedding designers, notice this pattern all the time. For example: our inboxes are full of the same reference photo being sent again and again. You know the one… white hydrangeas, green grapes, anthuriums, hanging amaranthus…
Is there anything wrong with that style? Absolutely not. But if you’re craving something that feels unique to you, your florist can take you deeper than a Pinterest board ever could.
What Pinterest Doesn’t Show You
- How long a trend has been circling
- How many times it’s been recreated (to the point of fatigue)
- Whether the style even suits your venue, your season, or your personality
- What’s actually trending in real weddings right now, not last year
- What’s coming next
Those are things only your creative team — your planner, stylist, and florist — can guide you through. Their job isn’t just to execute. It’s to interpret. To design.
Get Wedding Inspired Beyond the Algorithm
If you’re feeling stuck in the scroll, try this instead:
- Close the laptop. Go for a walk and notice what draws your eye — colors, textures, light.
- Visit a favorite place. What mood or memory does it evoke?
- Think seasonally. What’s naturally blooming at the time of your wedding?
- Pay attention to your home. What colors do you live with every day? What objects bring you joy?
- Remember your story. Where did you meet? What do you love doing together?
You can also use Pinterest more intentionally:
- Try searching for feelings instead of florals, like “ethereal mood,” “modern romance,” “warm minimalism”
- Pin fine art, fashion, interiors, and landscapes for a broader perspective
- Limit yourself to 10 pins that truly resonate. Then ask: What do they have in common?
By composing a board of feelings, moods, and vibes instead of floral arrangements, you allow your floral designer to interpret your tastes in a fresh, unique way that will be totally yours.

Having an Original Wedding Doesn’t Mean Outlandish
Wanting a unique wedding doesn’t need to mean throwing tradition out the window. It can be about asking better questions:
- What do we actually want to feel on our wedding day?
- Where do we want to invest our energy?
- What matters to us more than the visuals?
- How can we make our guests feel immersed in something meaningful?
Originality often shows up in the quietest details: the way your bouquet nods to your heritage. The shapes that the hydrangeas are sculpted in. The thoughtful varieties of foliages used. A ceremony arch inspired by the place you fell in love.
Let Your Florist Be a Creator, Not Just a Vendor
At Mulberry & Moss, we don’t replicate Pinterest trends. We reimagine.
Our full-service floral design process is rooted in storytelling, mood, and emotion, so that the end result feels elevated, effortless, and entirely yours. If all you know is what you don’t want, that’s enough. We’ll help you uncover what you do.
When you trust your florist to design with soul (not just follow a photo), the possibilities expand.
